Understanding L-Bar Shrink Wrap Sealer

The L-Bar Shrink wrap system is designed with two sealing sides that enclose the packaging film around a product as it passes. The system cuts and seals shrink packaging film with a single action. 

Once sealed, the package continues down the conveyor into the shrink tunnel, where heat is used to create an extremely tight enclosure around the product for uniform protection. The shrink-wrap sealer features a perforator roller that leaves small holes in the film and allows trapped air to vent out as the sealed package passes through the tunnel, preventing air bubbles from forming.

Manual L-Bar Sealers

Manual L-Bar sealers involve human labor and are easy to operate. For this machinery, an operator is required to grab and push down the handle to cut and seal the packaging film.

Semi-Automatic L-Bar Sealers

Semi-automatic shrink-wrapping machines require less human operation compared to manual sealers. The machine automatically seals the product after the operator places it in the shrink film. The operator uses a control panel to make adjustments to conveyor speed or temperature as needed.

MP Combo System

The Damark MP Series is a complete, economic shrink system with an integrated L Bar Sealer & Shrink Tunnel. The MP Series is available in two main configurations— the MP-2 and the MP-3. The MP-2 includes a standard heavy-gauge welded steel body and legs. 

Standard features unique to the MP-2 include: 

  • 14 x 18″ seal area
  • An electromagnetic seal jaw hold down
  • 16″ wide by 9″ tall tunnel opening
  • Variable speed Teflon mesh belt conveyor
  • Film perforator roller for vent holes
